Terms and Conditions

As we specialise in arranging short notice tests, we are UNABLE to guarantee which test centre your practical test will be held at. We always try for the closest, but this is not always possible.

Driving Test Guarantee – Please follow the link to the Driving Test Guarantee page of this site
Please  note the terms for the Driving Test Guarantee will be strictly adhered to.

The Driving Test not being in place at the start of the course, or being outside the course week, is not a valid reason, to delay commencing the course.

If a suitable test is refused, we will only alter the test 3 times, after which it will be the responsibility of the instructor/student

Should it be decided, that the student is not going to be ready for a qualifying test and there is sufficient time to reschedule it, we will provide the link and reference numbers for the student/instructor to be able to alter the test.

All courses booked with OneWeekDrivingCourse.co.uk,  are under the provision that you understand you are forming a contract between yourself (the student named on the booking form)  and the instructor,  in regards to delivery of the course and its hours. The instructor is a self-employed franchisee of One Week Driving Course. Any balance payment dispute, claim or discussion, regarding tuition, course hours or any other issues should therefore be taken up with the instructor .

OneWeekDrivingCourse.co.uk forwards to both the student and the instructor a “Record of Course Hours” form.  To be filled in and initialled by both instructor and student and each copy retained.  Any discussion of course hours should be referred back to the instructor using this form.  OneWeekDrivingCourse.co.uk cannot enter into any discussion regarding course hours if this form is not completed and a copy held.

The company cannot be held liable for any compensation claim from either instructor or student, nor can it be held responsible for any traffic law violation on the part of either instructor or the student.

Any private arrangements made between the student and the instructor, after the original course, should be discussed with the instructor and not OneWeekDrivingCourse.co.uk

Payments for courses are split into Deposit and Balance Payments
OneWeekDrivingCourse.co.uk will not be held responsible for any balance payment forwarded to the instructor. Any dispute over the balance payment would need to be taken up directly with the instructor.

OneWeekDrivingCourse.co.uk acts as an agent.

If you are affected by any of the following conditions ( but not limited to ) Anxiety, depression,  panic attacks, dyslexia , dyspraxia, autism , aspergers ( or any other condition you consider necessary to mention to us). , which affect you to a degree where you feel this needs to be mentioned, either before or during your course
–We would recommend, you consider, not taking an intensive course.   Intensive Courses are by their very nature demanding and you run the risk of losing your course hours and test, if you were to find the course, too intensive or not reach test standard. Our instructors  are not expected to be experts in tuition in these specialist fields.

Deposit payments include, where applicable, theory test fee, practical test fee, booking and administration fees and are inclusive of VAT.
Balance payments are made to the individual instructors carrying out the course and do not include VAT.

It is the student’s responsibility to notify One Week Driving Course of the following when making a booking:-

  • your driving licence number.
  • your theory certificate number & date passed
  • your pickup address if different to home address
  • any unavailable dates and/or times.
  • any special requirements.
  • any medical condition
  • any condition which could affect the driving course.
  • any condition which could affect the driving test.
  • dates of any tests already booked which would conflict with the course you are booking.

We are unable to specify male or female instructors, due to our policy of non discrimation. Requesting a specific gender of instructor is not a valid reason for a course not proceeding.

If you choose to commence your course in a manual car, you will have to complete the course, as the instructor has allocated his time for you. You will not be able to change to an automatic.

One Week Driving Course will not be held responsible for a pupil not providing any relevant information that could affect either the driving course or driving test.

Failure to forward your theory certificate number and date of passing, or the fact that you have failed the theory, or failure to respond to any reminders, will mean we may well be unable to book a practical for the final day of your course.

We generally require at least  2 weeks in between theory test and practical course.

Your driving test may be arranged for any day of your course week.

If you fail your theory test, you will attempt to book another before your practical course, but be aware this greatly reduces the amount of time we have to book your practical test, which may mean you will be unable to have your practical test on the final day of the course.

If you were to fail the theory test, (or not take it for whatever reason), the practical course will still go ahead except for the final day, which we will hold back until you have passed the theory. This is at the discretion of the instructor taking the course.

If you do not go ahead with the original course date, your deposit will be forfeit.

Eyesight – Your eyesight must be up to standard. If you are unable to read a number plate from the required distance, the instructor may refuse to allow you to drive.

It will be at the instructors discretion as to whether the course hours for that week will be forfeit, at such short notice, as they have it scheduled in their diary and you may lose your practical test fee, if too late to cancel. You will need to discuss this with your instructor.

It is highly advisable to have your eyesight checked before beginning any course.

If the student cannot take their theory test due to not having the correct licence, the instructor reserves the right to go ahead with the majority of the training, reserving some, for when the theory test has been taken and passed.

You must also hold a valid provisional licence for the category B – Car Licence.. If  you do not reach the required  standard by your test day, you may be refused the use of our Instructors car incurring the loss of test fee. The Instructors decision is final,

If you were to fail the theory test, (or not take it for whatever reason), the practical course will still go ahead except for the final day, which we will hold back until you have passed the theory. This is at the discretion of the instructor taking the course. in this instance you must book and pay for any further theory tests via the DVSA website. If you do not go ahead with the original course date, your deposit will be forfeit.

We organise courses so that in general there is a sufficient  gap between the theory test and practical course to give us time to organise the practical test. If you fail the theory test you must attempt attempt to organise another theory test before the practical course, but this will reduce the chance of getting your practical test to coincide with your course dates.

One Week Driving Course cannot be held responsible for bad weather cancellation of tests. We will try our best to reschedule to suit both the pupil and instructor, but please be aware this can in some instances lead to delays.

One Week Driving Course  does not teach test routes, or areas, instead we teach you how to drive, being able to recognise different situations and how to deal with different types of junctions.

Availability of courses and instructors shown on the site is meant as a guide only. We reserve the right to offer alternate dates and instructors.

Our instructors may be from a different area to the one you live in.

Any toll charges, congestion charges are to paid by the student, in cash to the instructor. The present charge for the London congestion zone being £8 / day.

One Week Driving Course reserves the right to refuse a course booking for whatever reason.

Note – We cannot guarantee a Driving Test for the end of your driving course, however One Week Driving Course Driving School currently has a 99% success rate of achieving this.

Learning or Medical Conditions

Intensive courses are , just as they sound  – Intensive

If you suffer from any condtion – ie ( but not limited to )  Aspergers, Dyslexia Dyspraxia, Anxiety or Depression.

If you feel that the level of your condition means that is necessary to tell us about it, in regard to the practical driving – then you should consider is an intensive driving course suitable for your learning needs ?

Be aware that our instructors are not specially trained in teaching students with any special needs and with the intensive nature of our courses, extra time is not built in.

It is your responsibility entirely to make sure you will be suited to this type of course. Instructors book out a week of their diary, so in the event you find the intensity of the course unsuitable, they are unable to fill that space and as such no refund would be offered.

Likewise any medical condition ( including pregnancy ) which might affect your ability to carry out the 6hrs per day of the course.  It is your responsibility entirely to make sure you are physically able to do this.   We are unable to offer a refund , as above, due to the instructor being unable to replace this weeks diary.

In both instances the instructor may agree ( but is under no obligation )  to carry out shorter hours per day, however any unused hours would be forfeit.

It is entirely the students responsiblity to make sure that an intensive course is suitable for any condition they might have.

Ultimate Package Deal

If after the initial 48hr course, the instructor considers it would be dangerous for the pupil to take the practical test, the student will have to pay for additional lessons until they reach a safe standard. Once they have taken the first test, the 3 retest days then become valid.

The pupil must inform us of any condition, circumstance or previous history which might make it effectively, almost impossible to pass the test.

If you choose to commence your course in a manual car, you will not be able to change to an automatic. Choosing to end the manual course, would result in a loss of your course.

The pupil must make themselves  available at reasonable notice for retest dates for the retest days  to remain effective. (ie. stating you are only available 1 Saturday every month, is not acceptable and may invalidate the retests).  Failure to be available to retake a test within 12 weeks will invalidate the retests

If the pupil refuses three reasonable test dates, then the retest package will be invalidated.

 Practical Retests

Free 2nd Test on all courses (excluding assessment course) valid for courses booked from 1/1/19

If you do not pass first time on any course which includes a test , we will pay for your next test,

as a deduction from the cost of a retest course.

( or alternative course , excepting the assessment course )

No cash alternative, we will only book 1 free test.

To qualify for the free test – you must have reached test standard and have taken the driving test at the end of your course

Test Insurance and Test-Only Package Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to both the Test Insurance and Test-Only Packages:

The fee for the Test Insurance and Test-Only Packages is non-refundable.

These packages include a fast-track practical test with up to three early test searches but do not include tuition hours. Students may arrange lessons with their instructor, find a new instructor, or use their own car for the test.

Booking or altering a practical test after purchasing these packages will terminate our searching or booking services, and the fee will be forfeit. If the student’s theory test expires during the search, the process will pause until the theory test is renewed. The packages will remain valid for three months from the theory test expiration date.

If you accept a test and it is within three working days and cannot attend, you will forfeit the test fee. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure their instructor is available for the test.

Adding these packages invalidates any free test offers associated with other packages, as only one offer can apply per booking.

Additionally, the Test Insurance Package is non-refundable if the student passes their test on the first attempt. If Test Insurance is not selected at the time of booking, the test only package can be purchased separately at the full price of £135.

Gift Vouchers

Gift Vouchers must be redeemed within 12 months of the original purchase date.

Once this date has passed the voucher will be forfeit.

Prices at the time of redemption will be in force.

 1.4

Your theory test will be booked at least 14 days prior to the course start date, if you were to fail you may not be able to take a practical driving test at the end of your driving course if another theory test cannot be taken.

If you pay for an additional theory test fee we will try to book another theory test before the end of your driving course (note – if this is not possible you will not be able to take a practical driving test at the end of your driving course).

 1.5

If One Week Driving Course Driving School cannot provide a driving test within the same week as your driving course then we will book the next available date provided by the DSA that best coincides with your instructors availability and yourself.

We aim to book your driving test  at the nearest Practical Driving Test Centre to you, however, if this is not possible we will locate a test at an alternative centre within a reasonable driving time. We do not specify which test centre you will take your test at.

The pupil will be permitted to use the training car for their driving test providing the pupil has reached a safe standard of driving. Whilst every effort is made to get the pupil to test level, and to take the practical test, if it is considered by the instructor that the pupil could be a danger to themselves, the DSA examiner or to the general public, then for safety reasons, he/she will not be allowed to use the training car for the test and will be advised accordingly. The test fee will be forfeit if it is within the 3 working days notice required by the DVSA  to alter/cancel a test. The hours allocated for the test, are to be completed in this instance.

One Week Driving Course cannot be held responsible if your course is affected in the following circumstances:-

The DVSA canceling a driving test due to :

Unavailable Examiner, Examiners taking strike action.

In this circumstance , the course goes ahead saving time for the re-arranged practical test.

Bad weather, failing light etc.

Any Unforeseen mechanical failure. Any accident while on a lesson or test.

Force Majeure

In the unfortunate event of an instructor passing away during a course, any monies paid to the instructor beforehand, would have to be recovered from the instructors estate.

 1.6

If the pupil is found to be under the Influence of Alcohol, Drugs or anything which could affect your driving, the pupil would not be allowed to drive for that day losing any fees for that days training or test fees if on test day. The instructors decision on this is final.

If you are on a guaranteed pass course you will have to pay for the next driving test & lessons for that day.

Note – If a second incident occurs then the course will be terminated with loss of all course fees.

If  you decide not to attend a driving test for any reason you will be liable for the next test fee.

If the pupil falls ill within the 3 working day test cancellation notice period, the test fee will be  forfeit and the pupil will have to pay for any subsequent test.

Due to the nature of intensive courses, if the pupil falls ill, during the course,  any remaining days may be forfeit if the pupil is unable to continue. (this subject to the discretion of the instructor, whose decision in these instances is final).

If you choose to take a course whilst pregnant, the above paragraph also applies. If you were to find the course too tiring, or have any pregnancy related issues, you may well forfeit any course hours.         (Again at the discretion of the instructor who has possibly cleared a week of their diary for the course. The instructors decision is final).

 1.7

Where the instructor may arrive late for a lesson due to circumstances beyond his/her control, the instructor will make efforts to extend the ‘finish’ time of the lesson by the same amount of time or add the time on to the following session.

If the instructor decides to terminate the course, any discussion regarding refund of the course hours and any deposit payment made, would need to be taken up with the instructor.

If the student has paid in full – we transfer the balance part of the payment to the instructor on the first day of the course. Any dispute over the balance part of any payment, would need to be taken up directly with the instructor.  OneWeekDrivingCourse.co.uk will not be held responsible for this portion of the payment.

1.8Where the pupil fails to attend a pre-arranged course time, the instructor will wait a maximum of 30 minutes before leaving. This will be then classed as a no show for which the pupil will be liable for a no show fee which is equal to that days lesson price.

1.10‘One Week Driving Course Driving School may substitute another instructor if unforeseen circumstances arise.
